Losing You - Courtney

She was shy
and innocent.
Carrying the weight of her family on her shoulders.
Ever since her dad died everything was different.
Nothing was the same.
The only person that got her through it was him.
She saw him once a day.
Only during the day.
He was rich.
She was poor.
He was confident.
She was insecure.
They weren’t right for each other.
But neither of them cared.
Because both of them knew that no one else was there.
He came from wealth.
And she came from nothing.
Their love was a secret.
Nobody could know.
But their hidden love for each other only made it grow.
They were fed up with life and the daily routine.
They just wanted to get out and never look back, without anyone seeing.
They decided they would leave without anyone knowing, but little did they know everybody’s suspicion was growing.
A rich guy with a poor girl? No this cannot be.
We must put an end to this before they plan to flee.
The night before they planned to leave, he lay asleep soundly in his bed.
While his father entered his room, his heart full of dread.
How could my only son do this? Putting my good name to shame.
With a girl who has nothing to offer him, no money and no game.
The very next day the son did not wake up.
The girl found out from someone else.
A death in the village.
She broke down, fell to the floor.
No more him, no more life, no more love anymore.
